BRIDGING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE WITH BHARAT ED-TECH

Bharat Ed-Tech Initiative works towards ensuring digital access for 1 million children from low-income communities and demonstrating improved learning outcomes by 2025. With the onset of COVID-19, approximately 1.5 million schools have been closed affecting access to education for over 247 million children in India. Thus, our models of education have largely changed and have been transferred online; creating and deepening issues in accessibility with only 1 in 4 students in India having access to digital learning. By increasing awareness of the importance of adoption of EdTech, improving affordability and access to hardware requirements and building knowledge for replication and scale positive outcomes can be expected.

In partnership with Games24x7, Bharat Ed-Tech initiative works in the geographies of Delhi and Kolkata with an aim to impact the lives of over 1200 students. The program is being implemented through a thorough understanding of the geographies, curated Ed-Tech solutions and designing relevant incentives to ensure outcomes. As our learning models have changed and become online-driven, the requirement of technology for access to education and equity cannot be denied. Despite classroom-based learning initiatives that might be re-instated with the waning of COVID, the future is clearly tech-driven and therefore access should be provided to all children despite their socio-economic standing. The collaboration will help ensure access to online modules of education with an aim to improve engagement and learning through home-based personalized learning solutions for students from low-income families, thus helping bridge gaps in access to the digital ecosystem.
